Stripers on the fly
Updated: Aug 7, 2018
Living in the beautiful green mountains of Vermont, I rarely get the chance to fish salt water, but when the stars line up, I do try to take advantage of the situation.
Last week while traveling for my daughters softball tournament, I found myself in Rode Island and had the opportunity to throw some streamers in the fast flowing rip currents under a bridge. I couldn't get over how much it was like fishing a swollen Vermont river in spring time.
Knowing quite well it wasn't the ideal time of year to be fishing for stripers, I had just as much fun researching and finding the spots for future trips as I did blind casting in the currents.
