WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED AND WHAT RIVERS DO YOU FISH?
Trico Unlimited is located in Arlington, Vermont, close to Manchester. We fish in several rivers spanning Southern Vermont and towns along the New York border. These include the Battenkill in Manchester, Arlington, and New York, the Walloomsac in Bennington, as well as the Hoosic and Mettawee Rivers.
WILL I NEED TO BRING MY OWN GEAR?
As with any adventure, having the right gear can be critical to the success and enjoyment of the day. At Trico, we proudly offer Orvis branded gear including wader, rods, flies, and tackle for those in need.
WHERE WILL WE FISH?
When fishing the rivers of Southern Vermont, more often than not you can expect to explore either the infamous Battenkill, the pristine Mettawee, the action packed Walloomsac or the meandering Otter Creek as well as various cold water tributaries. WILL I NEED A FISHING LICENSE?
Yes, assuming we will be fishing in Vermont and you are 15 or older, you will need a Vermont State Fishing License which can be purchased here: www.vtfishandwildlife.com
DO I NEED TO HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE FLY-FISHING?
No, in fact we are excited to work with beginners as well as experienced anglers

Absolutely. Here at Trico we take great pride in introducing kids to the sport as well as developing their river skills

WHAT ARE THE SEASONS?
For most Vermont rivers and lakes the fishing season runs from the second saturday in April to the last day of October however there are some rivers open year round which can extend the opportunity for additional guided adventures.
WHAT HAPPENS IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER?
Your safety is paramount to us. If weather conditions pose a risk for outdoor activities or lead to unsafe river conditions, we will notify you 24-48 hours in advance. Should we have to cancel due to inclement weather, you have the option to reschedule within one year of the originally scheduled date. If you prefer to cancel, we can provide a 50% refund, less a processing fee of 4%. Do keep in mind that a mere light rain isn't classified as inclement weather. Weather conditions are considered inclement only when they pose a genuine safety threat or result in dangerous river circumstances.
DO YOU PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION?
Yes with prior notice we can certainly provide regional transportation if necessary.
WILL I CATCH FISH?
This is a question often asked by newcomers to the sport while the experienced angler knows there are no guarantees when it comes to catching fish. The Southern Vermont water shed system can be technically challenging with Mother Nature providing numerous variables that play into the probability of catching fish. We can confidently provide each client with the best possible opportunity and instruction while the rest is up to skill set of the angler.
CAN WE KEEP THE FISH WE CATCH?
With great respect for the fish we at Trico we practice catch and release only.
WHERE DO WE MEET?
Meeting times and places may vary relative to water flows and conditions which will be determined prior to scheduled reservation date.

We recommend wearing long underwear and socks are a necessity.
